School Description
All-Japan Shoseikan Karate-do was founded by our Kancho (Chief Master), Katsutoshi Ishihara, in Chiba-Prefecture of Japan in 1968. Since 1971, Kancho Ishihara has traveled around the world to promote Shoseikan and Goju-Ryu Karate-do. In a result, International Shoseikan Karate & World Shoseikan Karate were formed and assisting the worldwide Karate development. Currently, we have over 50 Shibu Dojo in Japan, America, Canada, India, Pondicherry, Chennai and Dubai. In 2006, the first Dojo of Shoseikan Canada was established in Vancouver, BC by Chief Instructor, Shihan Henry Chan (5th Dan). Shihan Chan is the direct student of Kancho Ishihara (9th Dan), the Chief Master of World Shoseikan Karate-do. With the spirit and knowledge from Kancho Ishihara, Shihan Chan aims to promote Goju-Ryu Karate and Shoseikan spirit in Canada.
