2. Whistler Children’s Festival (All Ages)

Fuelled by imagination, creativity and giggles, the Whistler Children’s Festival is the resort’s longest-running event, now in its 36th year.

3. Sunday Afternoon Salsa at Robson Square (All Ages)

An annual series of free outdoor salsa dances during the summer months of July and August. Try the free Salsa dance lesson at 3 p.m., watch the dance performances at 5 p.m., or just check out the social dancing throughout the afternoon and see how much fun it is!

4. Symphony at Sunset (All Ages)

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and VSO Music Director Otto present a sunset concert that will include something for everyone, from classical favourites to film score hits. Works include Mussorgsky's A Night on Bald Mountain from Disney's Fantasia, the Love Theme from Tchaikovsky's Romeo & Juliet, selections from Bernstein's West Side Story and Adventures on Earth from John William's charming score from the movie E.T.

5. Friday Movie Night in the Plaza North Vancouver (All Ages)

Enjoy an outdoor summer movie experience and an evening of free family fun. The movies are shown on a big outdoor screen at sunset. Before the movie begins there’s lots of family-friendly activities, piano singalongs, face painting and entertainment.

6. Silk Road Festival (All Ages)

The Silk Road Festival is the first-of-its-kind in Canada with the theme to bridge cultures, engage communities and inspire discoveries. This two-day outdoor festival will feature a diverse style of visual and performing Silk Road arts spanning from Asia, Africa to Europe and beyond. Explore the bazaar filled with colourful arts and crafts, food and beverage, travel and technology with roots in the ancient Silk Road.

7. Burnaby Summer Arts Festival (All Ages)

An outdoor festival celebrating summer, this fun and engaging event offers thrills, excitement and culture! Car Free Day celebrates the vibrancy of Vancouver’s diverse neighbourhoods by organizing a multi-site annual arts and culture festival that reclaims traffic thoroughfares as community-focused public spaces. Artists, local residents, performers, artisans, non-profits, and businesses re-imagine spaces normally reserved for vehicle traffic.
