Camp Types

1. Camps: Summer - RCS Band Camp (Ages 4-17)

Begin or continue your band experience at the at The Royal Conservatory School!

Our faculty of acclaimed musicians will provide hands-on instruction in an interactive and fun setting. New students may choose from band instruments including flute, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and percussion.

Students with playing experience are encouraged to attend to hone playing skills over the summer! Students will be grouped according to experience. The week will end with a showcase performance!

Discipline: French Horn, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba, Percussion, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone

2. Camps: Summer - The Gruffalo (Ages 6-8)

Experience Julia Donaldson's text The Gruffalo through a variety of musical and artistic activities, working towards mounting their own performance of this witty and whimsical text.

Students will perform music and movement routines from The Gruffalo, play a variety of percussion instruments, design and build costumes and sets, and more!.

Discipline: Creative Arts Camps

3. Camps: Summer - Instrument Exploration Camp (Ages 4-5 & 6-7)

Back by popular demand! Learn what it's like to play a real instrument (or two or three!) at the Royal Conservatory School's Instrument Exploration Camp.

Students will have the opportunity to explore the many instruments we teach at the The Royal Conservatory School. Is your child a budding vocalist, a piano prodigy, or the next guitar virtuoso? Or, does your child just want to play for fun? We can help them decide by providing hands-on experience on a number of instruments.

4. Summer String Institute - Intro to Suzuki (Ages 4 - 9)

This one-week session is for very young students and their parents to begin string instruction in a fun and exciting environment.

Suzuki Philosophy

A major ideology of Suzuki is that each child works with a parent or guardian at home between lessons. For this reason, it is highly encouraged for parents and/or guardian to accompany their student to their classes.

Discipline: Cello, Violin, Suzuki Cello, Suzuki Violin

Difficulty: Beginner

5. Summer String Institute - Book 1&2 (Ages 4 - 8)

This one-week camp is designed to reinforce techniques and repertoire from Twinkle through the end of Book 2. The camp provides younger students with the ability to attend a 1/2 day session rather than participate in a full day of playing and camp activities. Classes will be arranged by level of completed repertoire.

6. Summer String Institute - Book 2 (Ages 5 - 10)

This intensive one-week camp offers individual instruction, group instruction, reading class, enrichment activity, and orchestra in a fun and engaging environment.

Discipline: Strings, Suzuki Cello, Suzuki Violin

7. Summer String Institute - Chamber & Orchestra （Ages 8 - 17）

The Chamber and Orchestra Camp is designed for string students who are seeking a more intensive summer camp experience which includes individual instruction, group class, chamber music, enrichment activity, and orchestra. Students will be grouped in chamber music based on their playing level and reading ability. Students should be in Suzuki Book 3 (or equivalent) and above.

Discipline: Strings, Suzuki Cello, Suzuki Violin

Difficulty: Intermediate

8. Summer Musical - Mary Poppins (Ages 8-10)

Perform in a musical production of Mary Poppins, the popular story of England's favourite magical nanny. You'll learn songs, choreographed movements, and how to design your own costumes, props, and stage sets. This two-week camp ends with a showcase performance for family and friends.
