4. City of Vancouver Family Fun Fair (All Ages)

Enjoy free family fun and meet the people who make your city run! Highlights include games, pony rides, a hay ride, and face painting, plus a performance from popular children’s musicians Bobs & LoLo. The City will also highlight their work through booths, equipment shows, and displays from many city departments, including Engineering Services, the Vancouver Police Department, Vancouver Fire and Rescue and Vancouver Public Library.

5. UBC Science Rendezvous Festival (All Ages)

Many departments on UBC campus will host demos, workshops, and hands-on experiments. This year the UBC Arts & Culture District joins in with quantum physics poetry and 3D-printed violin performances. New partners including Scouts Canada, UBC Forestry, Geering Up, and TRIUMF will also be part of the celebration.

10. Cross Cultural Strathcona Walking Tour

The Cross Cultural Strathcona Walking Tour celebrates the rich layered history of Vancouver’s downtown east side neighborhoods: Hogan’s Alley, Jewish Strathcona, Japantown, and Chinatown. The guided walking tour builds awareness of the contributions of early immigrant communities then and now, in celebration of Vancouver Asian Heritage Month and Canada’s Jewish Heritage Month.
