4. BMO Vancouver Marathon(All Ages)

The BMO Vancouver Marathon showcases beautiful running routes with scenic point-to-point courses that span parks and beaches, including the picturesque Seawall – the world’s longest uninterrupted waterfront path. The event features races for everyone, including the award-winning Marathon, a fast Half Marathon, 8KM, Relay, and Kids Run.

New this year, local non-profit RUNVAN® will be hosting block parties on Race Day Sunday. Enjoy live music, family-friendly activities and snacks, and cheer on runners as they complete Vancouver’s only Marathon!

5. BMO Vancouver Marathon Kids Run (5-12)

The Kids Run is for kids of all fitness levels. The race in Stanley Park on Saturday is designed to inspire kids to get moving, make healthy choices, and feel confident. Each child receives a race shirt, bib, medal, snack, and a special visit from an Elite Athlete for bib signing and photos. This positive, memorable experience will last your kids a lifetime.

9. May the Fourth Be With You: Family Night (7+)

Join us for our first FAMILY NIGHT and enjoy the Space Centre after hours at this galaxy far, far away celebration “May the 4th Be With You”. Parents and kids are encouraged to come dressed as your favorite Rebel or Empire character. Enjoy a round of droid trivia, visit distant worlds beyond your imagination and make your own light saber. Vancouver’s 501st Legion Outer Rim Garrison will also be stopping by to hang out and take pictures.

10. The Pull of the Net: A Multicultural Celebration

Celebrate the multiculturalism of the Canada’s West Coast fishing industry at the Cannery’s annual Pull of the Net celebration, featuring performances by community organizations including a Chinese Lion Dance, Japanese Taiko Drummers, Coastal Indigenous performances, Canadian maritime music, and more. Visitors can also enjoy cultural workshops, food tastings, demonstrations and exhibits, representing the many cultures from our community. This family-friendly event will be held both indoors and outdoors at the historic cannery.

11. Cross Cultural Strathcona Walking Tour

The Cross Cultural Strathcona Walking Tour celebrates the rich layered history of Vancouver’s downtown east side neighborhoods: Hogan’s Alley, Jewish Strathcona, Japantown, and Chinatown. The guided walking tour builds awareness of the contributions of early immigrant communities then and now, in celebration of Vancouver Asian Heritage Month and Canada’s Jewish Heritage Month. The theme is “education”.
